My favorite book
My favorite book is Kitchen God's wife. the kitchen god's wife is written by Amy tan. She is Chinese American. the Kitchen God's wife is representing her good writing skill and different view of things. the Kitchen God's wife was bestsellers book in New york times.
this book wrote about Winnie, Henlen, Pearl and Wenfu. the culture of Chinese marriage. the Parents will separated lover by match they are background. the most times, woman can not be happy about marriage, because they could not marry the man they really loved. Parents will choosen for them. then Look through Winnie's life, She could not marry Gan and She cant leave Wenfu, because of the traditional Chinese marriage tight her up. She dont want to be her mother poistion. Wenfu is sexually abusive guy and he also the husband of Winnie, but in fact Wenfu does not like Winnie. Henlen is a good friend of Winnie. they used to talk to each other, but since they escaped from NanKin, Winnie lost touch with Henlen. Henlen is the one can real open Winnie's mind.
Pearl is the daught of Winnie, but Winnie is not blond mother of pearl. Winnie loved Pearl so much. but Pearl does not understand Winnie, she dont understand everything does Winnie told her to do so. in the end of Story, Pearl had been understand everything and learn everyhing about Winnie again.

To me, it was hard to understand because the book obviously contain so many things that related with chinese cultures, nevertheless, I can't stop to read this book because the book is explaining about World War II in China, which is very intersting.
回复删除Lol! I like this book for the reason that the author Amy Tan reveals the foils of others. How Wen Fu is a bad person, and Winnie is helplessly suffering.
回复删除well i like this book too. feel sad to Winnie and happy for her that as a time change she has change herself and become braver and stronger person, and just let you know Wenfu is the wast man ever, and i wish i did not see this kind of man in today' world.
